For over 50 years, member Associations of Guide Dogs Australia have been providing the very special form of mobility and companionship that a Guide Dog brings.

Although not as well known, we also provide a wide range of other mobility services for people who are blind or vision impaired, helping them to achieve their potential for independence over their lifetime.

Guide Dogs Australia is made up of six state Associations delivering services to blind and vision impaired people throughout the country.

The Guide Dog Australia member Associations' flexible approach to training enables clients from five to 95 years to walk out the door of their home, school or workplace without fear of injury.

Through either domiciliary or residential training, our skilled professional staff help them achieve their own personal goals - to live an active life in the community, to attend school and university if that is their dream and pursue their chosen careers. We assist Australians living in metropolitan and regional areas - and all our services, including Guide Dogs, are provided completely free of charge.

The Guide Dog Australia member Associations around Australia receive minimal government funding and rely on the support of the general public.

You can help your state Association by making a tax deductible donation, remembering Guide Dogs in your Will, or supporting our special events and other fundraising initiatives
