Those that reach their destination are often handled inhumanely before being slaughtered in ways that would not be tolerated or legal in Australia. There is no need for this cruelty. Join the chain reaction that’s spreading across Australia and help bring an end to the intolerable cruelty of live sheep export.Visit www.humanechain.org.au and contact your local Member of Parliament today. Over 12,000 Australians have joined the Humane Chain to help put a stop to the cruelty of live sheep exports, but we urgently need more people to take action. If you have already taken action please help us spread the chain further by forwarding this email to your family and friends. Australia is the world's largest exporter of animals for slaughter, sending around 4 million sheep to the Middle East annually. Tens of thousands of sheep die on the journey every year. For sheep that survive the trip, a terrible fate often awaits them in countries that have no or unenforced animal welfare laws. No animal deserves to suffer such an ordeal. Help us to end this cruel trade by joining the Humane Chain and contacting your MP today. << Back to release articles |
