![]() RSPCA Superhero - Sarah Kemp
Mon 12 Jan 2009 The RSPCA enjoys the support of a number of celebrities – we call them RSPCA Superheroes. Our Superheroes are actor Simmone Jade Mackinnon, V8 Supercar driver Craig Lowndes and fashion designer Peter Alexander. We’ve also just signed up new Superhero, Sarah Kemp a rising star on the world golfing circuit. Our Superheroes contribution to our cause is enormous and they help make a positive difference to animal welfare in Australia by giving up their personal time to assist the RSPCA. Sarah is excited to be our newest superhero and has recently visited two of the RSPCA’s shelters during her limited time in Australia. “I love animals. Unfortunately, I grew up without being able to have any kind of pet and I’ve wanted to get involved with animal welfare somehow and what better way than to get involved with the RSPCA.” “I hope I can help to create awareness of the responsibilities of owning and caring for pets, the contribution animals make to our way of life and the plight of animals everywhere,” she said. Sarah learned how to play golf while acting as a caddy for her Dad at about eight years old. Her Dad bought her some clubs and she joined a golf club when she was 12. “I think a little bit was natural talent but it’s definitely something I had to work at to get where I am. My dad was pretty good so I had some good genes,” Sarah said. Sarah’s career highlight is completing the qualifying school to get on the LPGA tour and her long-term career goal is to be the best golfer in the world. We wish Sarah all the best until we see her back in Australia at the end of the year. << Back to release articles |
